If you’re looking for a retreat for your first time look no further and book Gaia now! From the minute I stepped onto the property I was greeted with open arms and love. From staff to other retreat members the vibe was very welcoming and it really helped me feel comfortable for the ceremonies. I had little experience with psychedelics prior to this so I was a bit nervous going in, but all of the preparation and safety measures Gaia takes made me feel 100% confident going in on the night of our first ceremony.
The property itself is GORGEOUS, an incredible place to get away and they have a ton of workshops like yoga, meditation, and mindfulness exercises. As you’ve probably read from the other reviews the food was some of the best I had on my entire South America trip and so healthy as well. There is phone service and strong Wifi for those that need it.
I opted for the 7-day retreat and felt that was enough. They also allow you to extend your stay and add on extra ceremonies as well so might be a better option than plunging in for the 12-day and seeing how you feel.
Salvador the shaman was an awesome guide throughout the ceremonies and mostly everyone out of the ~25 person group I was in had an incredible experience. I personally didn’t mind the larger than usual sized group and felt like I had a new family by the end of the retreat. Also the climate in the Andes was great, amazing weather and no nasty mosquitoes bugging you. Only 30 minutes away from the main city of Cuenca and Gaia offers day trips to the city during the retreat so you can explore as well if you’re limited on time.
You won’t regret booking here, one of the most meaningful experiences of my life and I’ll definitely be back.
