Orillas del Río Uchima, Barrio Sacapo, Parroquia San Pedro de Vilcabamba, Loja, Ecuador
Casa Del Sol gave me everything I was looking for, within the first two days of the retreat, and then it showed me what I really needed, and then it gave me that too.
I came to Casa Del Sol with the intention of learning how to look past the stories I write with my ego and the expectations that others put on me, to just see and appreciate my life for what it is. And I got that, in a very powerful experience, on day two. After exploring that for a few days, I realized that what I was really missing was the ability to just love my life, to play and share and connect with others on a deeper level. And shortly after I started looking for that, it also came to me in full force. Halfway through the retreat I was worried about coming home and losing what I had found there, but by the end I knew I had received the healing I needed and I was looking forward to coming back, integrating it into my life, and sharing this gift with my friends and family.
There’s so much healing to be found in this place. Santiago and Ximena are some of the kindest, wisest, most loving people I’ve ever met. Their connection to nature, to the plant medicines, to their shamanic traditions, and to each other is inspiring, and they shifted some major spiritual changes inside of me. Their patience and empathy brought our retreat members together into one of the closest family groups I’ve ever known. They knew exactly what each one of us needed, helped each of us see past our personal obstacles, and sent all of us home as better versions of ourselves than we had ever known.
I’m not normally this sentimental, and I don’t write much about spirituality or energy or magic, but this retreat woke up something inside of me that’s helped me to see that I live a much more beautiful life in a much more beautiful world than what I thought a few weeks ago.
Santiago and Ximena, thank you so so much. I will be back.
